From The President’s Desk

 

A bit of International analysis here. President Trump has announced increased import duties for base metals like Iron, aluminium, etc. The reaction from the world is muted as yet, but it will not be long before other major powers respond. Countries like China, Russia, and others will also start putting up their import duties and taxes. Protective walls will start going up, and this could lead to the collapse of the Global Village that the world has become since last 2 decades. Lets hope we don’t end up with a global economic war, which will be detrimental to the whole world and the smooth flow of trade.

India is marching towards the elections in 2019. It began with the last Budget, and we expect most Governmental decisions going forward to be based more on their power to attract votes than strict economics. India has again registered a 7.2% GDP growth , and this is a great sign, coming off the dark period of Demonetisation and to some extent the GST impact. Finally we are seeing green shoots in the economy, lets hope this gets better and better and nothing comes along to disturb it.

Mr.Nadir Godrej was awarded into IBG’s Business Excellence category.

He is the Managing Director of Godrej Industries Ltd. and Chairman of Godrej Agrovet Ltd. He is also the Co-Chair of Godrej Good & Green Governing Council. He holds a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has been a Director of several Godrej companies since 1977 and has developed the animal feed, agricultural inputs and chemicals businesses of Godrej Industries and other associate companies, and has been very active in research.

With inherent Sindhi genes in me,I became an Entrepreneur at a young age of 19,by setting up my boutique'Bani Thani' in Jaipur. I built up strong clientele and created my niche very soon. After marriage I did my MBA in HR from Symbiosis Institute and just 3 years back I got back to work mode by joining my husband's Capital Investment Firm as a HR and Administrative head. Alongside I also trained kids and youth in soft skills as a senior soft skills trainer with Helen O Grady International.

Last year in an effort to give a proper channel to our philanthropic works I set up my NGO -ELYSIUM SMILES, through this initiative we are sponsoring coaching and school fee of 15 kids and helping one paralyzed patient with his physiotherapy expenses.

Last year my life took a complete and beautiful turn when on my daughters insistence I applied for two beauty pageants and came out as winner in both....Mrs Beautiful Earth 2017 and Mrs India popular choice 2017.After this I became a model, showstopper and brand ambassador. I had always been anchoring shows for friends and family but now I even became a professional anchor. Two Pageants took me as their official grooming expert and many more were in talks. I felt the need to top up my soft skills with a higher qualification and now I'm pursuing Image consultancy. In April as I complete my this certification I plan to start my own Image consulting academy. But my NGO remains my first child along with my all other endeavors. And my family which constitutes of myself, my partner, our two girls and of course two Puppies....is my World
